Beta Alpha Psi is proud to be a global strategic partner of R.I.S.E. (Redefining Investment Strategy Education) IX, a Global Student Investment Forum, along with the United Nations Global Compact, Deutsche Asset Management, New York Stock Exchange, CME Group, NASDAQ, Deutsche Börse Group, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Dubai Financial Market, TIAA-CREF, Financial Services Forum, Amman Stock Exchange, BOVESPA, Colombo Stock Exchange, Dubai Financial Market, Morningstar Inc., Palestine Securities Exchange, GARP and the University of Dayton. Now in its 9th year, R.I.S.E. gathers leading students, faculty, and Wall Street professionals together to discuss pertinent issues facing investment professionals in a completely interactive forum.
R.I.S.E. IX will be held 26-28 March, 2009 on the University of Dayton campus and will include:
- Internationally renowned industry leaders discussing the economy; markets; Federal Reserve perspective; corporate governance & responsibility; global investment Issues & opportunities; leadership perspective; political & business perspective; and Wall Street perspective
- Breakout sessions focusing on alternative investments, ethics, fixed income, hedge funds, international markets, portfolio manager perspectives, and risk management, to name but a few
- Portfolio management and security analysis workshops
- Career Strategies Forum where recent college graduates working in asset management and capital markets explore techniques for succeeding in a competitive marketplace
- Multiple opportunities for networking and sharing of best practices with faculty and students from other leading investment programs
- An optional student-managed portfolio competition in growth, value, blend, alternative, and fixed income styles of management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
Last spring, more than 2,400 attendees representing 257 colleges and universities from 71 countries participated in this unique educational event. In addition, portions of R.I.S.E. were broadcast to more than 1,000,000 professionals in 140 countries by Dow Jones News, Bloomberg News, Bloomberg TV, the Associated Press and Reuters News, making R.I.S.E. the largest student investment conference in the world.
Each BAP chapter that has a participant can earn an ROA (reaching out activity). Members who attend R.I.S.E. can earn up to five non-BAP hours of professional activities.
